    Bulls -> Grizzlies Trade "Idea"/Rumour

THis idea was mentioned in NBA Insider and I wanted to know your opinions.

    Memphis Sends:

    Bonzi Wells
    Stromile Swift

    Memphis Receives:

    Eddie Curry
    Eddie Robinson
    Chris Jefferies

or you can look at it like this.

    Chicago Sends:

    Eddie Curry
    Eddie Robinson
    Chris Jefferies

    Chicago Receives:

    Bonzi Wells
    Stromile Swift

It all checks out under the Salary cap.

I don't see it happening, but it would be cool to see it. Howewver with the Insider reporting that Curry has showed up 35 pounds overweight(two weeks ago) after vowing ot be in the best shape of his life, it looks like Chicago might want to move him. Bonzi and Stro save some lost ground.

On the Grizzlies side, they can get a good dominant big man, and start competing a bit, and they apparently believe Hubie Brown can turn Curry around.

    Thoughts?

If I was Chicago I would love this deal, Eddy Curry has been nothing but a dissapointment condition wise so far and he wont get far in the league like that, I htink he might need some new scenary or a new coach to get him in shape..Memphis I might do it because on the other side Curry is promising and Hubie is one of the best coaches in the league and might be able to change the kid around..

Memphis gets the upper hand in this trade IMO. They lose two bench players and get a young center with lots of potential left in him still at the age of 21, and a small forward, who despite being overpaid, can still provide instant off the bench, and a change of scenery might do great things for Eddie Robinson. Chris Jefferies is also young, but he would be just a throw-in in the deal.

Memphis gets a better deal here. They get lots of size.

    Equal Deal either way...

IMO I think this is a pretty even deal...Chiago trades away Curry (who weighed in 35 pounds overweight) and 2 stiffs for Bonzi Wells (who's pretty good) and Stromile Swift...My only question is why do the bulls need a SG? They just drafted Ben Gordon...But can this be a sign of Jamal Crawford leaveing town for good? From the Grizzles they get someone in Curry who can really breakout this year as a center, he would just need to improve on his rebounding...I always forget that Curry came out of high school...I don't know why [IMG] ...He is a lot younger then I thought...He is underrated IMO averaging 14 ppg...Well thats my 2 cents people

Very bad move for the Grizzlies, I'd never do this. Those 2 players are a part of that great core they had last year. I also think the the only half decent player if given minutes is Robinson. Curry is a blossoming bum and Jefferies who?

Blossoming bum? Eddy Curry has the potential to be a future star and will be a great partner for Gasol down low. Jefferies might not to very good, but he has the skills and potential to break out under Hubie Brown.

Come on now, you actually think the Grizzlies would be the one's making out in this deal? No way, Swift is a great defensive presence were Curry is not and Wells is a slashing proven defender and scorer.
