<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Bulls waived veteran forward Othella Harrington on Friday. Harrington, 32, spent the last two of his 10 NBA seasons with the Bulls and averaged 6.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 142 games. He was one of the Bulls' captains last season and had been set to earn $3,867,500 next season. With Harrington's salary off the books, the Bulls might be able to re-sign free-agent forward Darius Songaila. Mark Bartelstein, Songaila's agent, said Tuesday that Songaila has drawn interest from several teams and that Bartelstein has had frequent conversations with Bulls general manager John Paxson. Songaila is likely looking to at least double his $2.5million salary from last season on a four- or five-year contract. The Bulls increased their depth at forward with the draft-day deal that landed the team No. 4 pick Tyrus Thomas and Viktor Khryapa from Portland, and this week's trade of Tyson Chandler that yielded P.J. Brown. Still, Paxson might be looking to make a sign-and-trade deal with the Seattle SuperSonics for forward Chris Wilcox. According to a source, Wilcox was third on the Bulls' offseason free-agent list behind Ben Wallace and Atlanta's Al Harrington. Wallace agreed to a four-year, $60 million deal Monday with the Bulls, who no longer have interest in Al Harrington. Wilcox, a restricted free agent, is reportedly seeking a five-year, $50million contract and is at an impasse with the Sonics. I read a rumor that Paxson was interested for a sign and trade with the Sonics for Wilcox, who the article said, is probably set to make 10 mil a year... That would just be adding more than Tyson's salary back.
I read an article a couple days ago where Paxson denied having any interest in Wilcox. Paxson wants to keep some cap room available to sign free agents next off-season. In addition, as SP23 said what was the point of trading Chandler if we did this move?

I didn't see the article about Paxson dening, which is a really good thing, only because that's too much money.
Wilcox is the last person I want to see. He hasn't proven anything yet and had merely shown flashes of being good. Beyond that, he is, by NO MEANS, a $10mil a year player. If we get him, what was the point of trading Tyson? There won't be one. So please, Pax, don't bring him in.
