We had two great games, and could very well have been 2-0 at that point in the season. Had it not been for a horrible Tyson Chandler foul. Why still no respect? The so called experts are acting like the Bulls did not even make the playoffs last year.
I agree with the fact that a little more respect should be given to the Bulls just based on what they did last year. Unfortunately many people still are not convinced and think it was a fluke. I think the reasons why are: #1- The Bulls don't have a "star" player yet. Ben Gordon can emerge as one, but he is not one yet. Other teams, even the ones that didn't make the playoffs, have an all-star or former all-star player and the Bulls do not. When people look at a roster, no one will see a stand out player and that doesn't create a good initial thought about a team even though they play great team basketball. #2- During the off-season the Bulls didn't really do much. Many teams had major resignings or new signings that are suppose to make them a lot better. The Bulls signed role players, and then traded away Eddy Curry, who many people thought would be a big force. The Bulls will have to just prove the doubters wrong again this year and I think they will have no problems doing so. I mean, the game vs. Charlotte was a little shaky at first but a big win with that big comeback. They really should not of lost game 2 to the Nets, just a bad play in the last second. I really wouldn't take the PR so seriously yet. The season is young. If you look at the Nets, they are #9 and the Bulls #23, it could easily be reversed.
