The Timberwolves missed their final nine shots, including three by Kevin Garnett in the last minute, as the Chicago Bulls spoiled McHale's coaching debut with an 87-83 victory.

The Bulls won at the Target Center for the first time since 1997 as they withstood the anticipated emotional boost the Timberwolves would have.

Not a good start for McHale.

What emotional boost? I don't think there was much boost coming from that coaching change.

It was horrible to follow this match on the liveticker. They started great, but after a run fell behind in the first quarter, then fought back only to get nervous in the last minutes and give the game away. And when ever has KG missed a dunk?

What can I say? There was no difference in that game.

I read the paper and the Timberwolves website today about McHale. He talked about how his team played hard in Sunday's loss. Funny. The Wolves were flat in the first quarter and they were behind 60-47. Yeah they played hard, alright. Then they choked in the fourth quarter and quit.

McHale has not only resorted to moral victories, but he now has to lie and insult everyone's intelligence.

Since I am mentioning moral victories, I see McHale have set standards to low standards. He has now resorted to moral victories. Smooth.

"Overall, we fought hard," McHale said in his first game as a head coach. "That's the first thing that I asked of them. Forget X's and O's. We need to go out and fight."

Sweet. For 70 million roster, this team just needs to fight rather than win games. I like to think a player should go out and "fight" every night with the money he is making. You would like to think personal pride comes in to play when you are on the court facing competition.

From 72 wins to championship aspirations, the bar is so low that fight is acceptable.

Oh and I expect McHale to win his first game on March 2nd when the Warriors come to town. By then, the season is over and KG might as well rest that knee.

Oh and I bet McHale quits on his players at the end of March.
