http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-bulls-bogans CHICAGO (AP)—Guard Keith Bogans was waived by the Chicago Bulls on Friday. Bogans started all 82 games last season and averaged 4.4 points in 17.8 minutes per game. The Bulls, who had been holding him out of practice, had a $1.73 million contract option and a Dec. 19 deadline for a decision on it.
I appreciate that he gave his all, and all.... But this is recognition that he's truly an end of the bench player, and everyone moved down one seat when we got Rip. Thanks for the effort, Keith. I hope you catch on with a contender.
Well Keith, it's ironic to say this, but I'm sad to see you go. You handled your (mis-directed) criticism with honor, and your status as media punching bag ended up being quite a public good that many people got to enjoy throughout the season. My guess is you'll keep doing what you're doing, and some team out there will be happy to have you as their 11th man. And while I think Rip Hamilton is much better suited to be our starting SG than you are, I tip my hat to you somehow managing to start more games than any other player on the team with the best record in the league. Not too many guys with your talent could pull that off.
