The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning consumers to avoid certain Compliments brand Super 8 Beef Burgers because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.

The CFIA says there have been reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the product and there may be recalls of additional products as a food safety investigation continues.

The burgers were distributed in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador in Sobeys banner stores.

The burgers, made by made by Belmont Meats of Toronto, might also be in Foodland, FreshCo and Price Chopper stories.
