Bynum actually really disappointed me this year outside of a couple weeks.

    Oden was also very disappointing.

Howard sucked in the playoffs, but he is head and shoulders ahead of these 2.

Yeah...in the playoffs me and you guys were arguing pretty much which pile of crap stunk less....nothing stellar from either player(but Bynums crap DID stink less for the record) :devilwink:

Howard averaged 20/15/2.6 blocks in the playoffs on 60% shooting. :dunno:

I will say that Bynum regressed last year over 2007-08. He still had a great PER at 20, but his usage was up significantly over 2007-08, when he had a PER over 22.

Bynum is the one laker that I actually like. But I was dissappointed in both he and Oden last year for the most part. They both had some flashes, and Bynum had a few weeks where it looked like he might take off, but then all went to shit.

Being as unbiased as I can, I think Bynum is certainly the better player now overall, and might always be the better player on offense. Oden is the better defender, but has a bigger (much bigger) upside on both sides of the court than Bynum. But given how long the players are in the league, I think I would go with Bynum next year. Two years latter, my guess is that Oden will win the matchup hands down. Unless one or the other gets hurt again.

That is because he is a classless, immature, crybaby little bitch and Team USA doesn't want him representing our country.

Or because he is focusing on leg strength and/or working out with Dwight Howard to get ripped...as they both said they would be doing together :ghoti:

Perhaps after Oden's 4th year we may get a clearer picture. If you are saying that Bynum in his 4th year is better then Oden during his rookie season then obviously that is true.

If you compare Bynum in his first two years versus Oden in his rookie season, Bynum get's owned.

I don't know which will be better in the long run, but to compare a rookie to a 4th year guy is pretty fucking stupid.

Yes they are working out together becuase they know they are in trouble in 2 seasons when Oden is the premier big man in the league.

Last year was Oden's rookie season, and Bynum's 4th season right? The fact that they were so close in terms of production says something about Bynum, and it isn't very good. Sure, both came back from injuries and that skewed their ineffectiveness farther, but Bynum should have been head and shoulders better, and wasn't.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I don't agree. I think it says good things about Oden. Bynum was very good when he was healthy. Oden was close to him in advanced metrics despite the difference in experience because he's an unusually good talent. I think Bynum is underrated, but then Oden is even more underrated, IMO.

I made some amendments to your quote in bold.

I agree with the thread title as long as you emphasize the last word to indicate the evaluation is... not smart

Bynum and Oden will both be great players in the league as long as they are healthy. We'll see what happens...

I know you're just on a WUM, but Bynum was an absolute fucking disaster in the playoffs.

If Oden's that crap in year 4 of his career in the post season I'll cut my fucking hand off.

    (Baring injury of course )
