    Again, I hate agents.

This comment pissed me off ...If it doesn't happen by Oct. 31, there will be consequences."

Why would you make a statement like that to the media? Hell why would you make that statement ever?

    1. It's classless & unprofessional
    2. It makes Bynum look bad in front of the fans who are really pulling for the kid
    3. It creates unnecessary friction in the locker room

The guy doesn't understand that Bynum has JUST got back from an injury and has to prove to us that he can play at a high level. There have been countless times in NBA history, where a ton of money has been poured into injury-prone players, and you can't fault the Lakers on wanting to wait on that. It's not like the Lakers ever planned on losing Bynum or replacing him this past year.....we waited for him, granted we got Pau.

Bynum needs a new agent, and since I'm looking to be one (*sigh*), sign me up!

There's actually no benefit for the Lakers to extend him by Oct. 31st. The Lakers need time to evaluate Bynum's health and development. Plus they have several other free agent decisions to make in the summer. Bynum has said all along "If I take care of business on the court, everything else will be taken care of."

His agent is trying to play hardball without any control over the situation. Lakers hold all the cards at this point because they own Bynum's rights and can match any offer. They can pay him the most money.

That would be a very dumb risk for Bynum to take a qualifying offer for one year
