He should be who we go after, if the owners have a soul. He has proven he can succeed with a star point guard and should inspire the players to actually play hard. Plus, he's even complimented Baron. Sounds like the best man, assuming we also get the rest of the pieces together.
Personally I know he's not available but someone along the lines of Larry Brown or Doc Rivers would be good for this team, they need someone offensively sound, mature, intelligent and minded. Scott fits that seeing as he mostly concentrated on offense whilst he was the Nets coach. Seeing as B Dizzle is the star, plus a PG, he'd probably feel right at home here, having to rely on a really good player. I say go for it as well, plus once you get others or improve the offensive presence of the others, the team'll be even more intimidating.
How exactly do you know he's not availiable? Just wodering, because he's been interviewed the last couple days in N.O. and his agent say's he's "definitely interested."
I think B.Scott would be a good coach for this team. His Princeton offensive system that he uses would create alot more movement in your offense, which I think the Hornets need more of, instead of just keeping the ball in B.Davis' hands all the time. But his playoff subsitutions & rotations kind of stink
I believe Byron Scoot would be a good coach for this team. He would fit in well with the Hornets considering that they have a star PG such as Baron Davis. Scott has proven that he can have success with a star PG in that past (Jason Kidd), so with Baron Davis I wouldn’t expect things to be any different. They would get along famously. The real question is, can he work with a big man? Now that the Hornets are moving on to the West, Jamal Magloire would and should be his #1 priority. Magloire is going to be the main ingredient in order for this team to have any major success. All of the West top teams have great big men. From Shaq to Duncan, Garnett, Dirk, Ming etc… For the Hornets to have any chance in the West, they would need the same.
I agree. We need Magloire to get meaner and stronger, and get the ball to him at good opportunities. I think we should also run more, assuming we get some new blood for Mashburn or Wesley.
remember, the offense in New Jersey wasn't byron's offense, it was Eddie Jordan's offense. so byron had a lot of help here in jersey, so he will need good assistant coaches to help him be successful. if phil jackson remains in LA, then i could see byron going to NO. but you know he wants the Lakers job, so have to wait and see. he won't have that much success his first year because its with a new team and in the west. he coached in the east where he didnt have to worry about shaq/duncan/kg/bibby for four games a year. so you might hae to take a step backwards as a franchise to move forward.
