Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe said Monday the Nuggets will not extend the contract of the team's coach during the off-season. Bzdelik has one year remaining at $1.5 million. "That's just not something we're going to address this summer," Vandeweghe said of possibly extending Bzdelik's original three-year deal. "We've got a lot of things going on." Vandeweghe is not concerned about Bzdelik again coaching in what potentially is the last year of a contract. Bzdelik, who declined comment, led the Nuggets to a 43-39 record last season after they finished 17-65 in his first year. He was sixth in voting for coach of the year. And the way he disciplined the players, played a role in their success last season. Since this is a young Denver Nuggets team they’re going to need all the discipline they can get. Although, it's still unkown whether Bzdelik is going to be coaching this team long-term, I think the Nuggets should be happy with they got.
