<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The awkward silence of the slumping Nuggets is disquieting. The only detectable noise inside the Denver locker room after another depressing loss can be heard from chairs squeaking with resignation and voices speaking in the hushed tones normally reserved for family secrets. Suffering through an untimely 1-8 skid, the Nuggets are stuck in a moment and they can't get out of it. Nobody knows what to say. Which speaks volumes about a problem that is softly killing Denver. As players desperately cling to shaken confidence and feel the final playoff berth in the Western Conference slipping away, there is a leadership void on this team. The Nuggets' best intentions are being stifled by players afraid to speak up before it's too late. "This team is different. We've got some quiet guys. There are some older guys on this team who can talk. But does somebody stick out as far as being a leader? No, not really," Nuggets point guard Andre Miller told The Post. So who is going to pull Denver out of its free fall in the Midwest Division standings? Good question. If the Nuggets cannot find the answer soon, the franchise will be watching the NBA playoffs on television for the ninth consecutive year. "In difficult times, players usually look to one of two people. One is the coach. The other is the star of the team," Denver general manager Kiki Vandeweghe said. </div> http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,3...2004860,00.html Out of all the coaches losing out there this is the one guy that I don't think deserves it. He took a team that that was lottery bound last year and placed them in the playoffs
Yea, I think he shouldnt have to worry about his job being in Jeapordy, he has turned them around with help from a rejuvenated Marcus Camby, Andre Miller, an improving Nene, and of course Carmelo.
Yea I read the article, and if he does get fired, I would love Toronto to get him, but I don't think they will rid him even if they lose, because look at what this team was last year, even after all the changes, all they really need is a leader.
Not very likely, although he does have a great roster, it was very difficult to work it all out together so quickly. He's very talented and like Hubie Brown and Sloan, is able to make such a great team out of many talents and even those without, not that the Nuggets lack it.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Having his team make the NBA playoffs wouldn't be the same for Stan Kroenke as winning a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams or a Stanley Cup with the Avalanche. But considering the Nuggets' history, it would be almost as satisfying for the owner of all three teams. "We are on the path that we set out toward four years ago," Kroenke said Tuesday. "It shows me that we're making progress. When we came in we said it wasn't going to be an overnight success, because there was a lot of work to do. But we're making progress."</div> Full Article ============= http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,3...2066962,00.html
Tomasson: Fans come to defense of Bzdelik <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Nevertheless, I believe the results I gathered while strolling through the aisles of the Pepsi Center on Monday mean something. With Denver Nuggets season-ticket holders having been invited in to watch the team practice, I asked 14 if embattled Nuggets coach Jeff Bzdelik should be retained. Snare drum, please. Eleven want to see Bzdelik return, a healthy 78.6 percent. Meanwhile, the Rocky Mountain News conducted an Internet poll asking whether Bzdelik should be retained. Of 115 respondents, 81.7 percent want Bzdelik back and 18.3 don't. Two polls, and Bzdelik is getting about 80 percent support in each.
