<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LAS VEGAS - Warriors fans love forward Zarko Cabarkapa. His sleight-of-hand passes. His off-balance drives. His Euro 'fro. They can't get enough of "Z." But how much more will Warriors fans love Cabarkapa when his game reaches another level? How much harder will they cheer for him once they see him playing even better? Cabarkapa says Warriors fans haven't seen the extent of his game. No one has, including himself. He's just scratching the surface, just getting into gear. "I can do many more things," Cabarkapa said after scoring nine points on 3-of-9 shooting in the Warriors' summer league opener Friday. He's has yet to play a full season since being selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 17th overall pick of the 2003 NBA draft. He averaged just 11.2 minutes in 52 games with Phoenix, thanks mostly to a broken wrist and two forwards named Amare Stoudemire and Shawn Marion. But Cabarkapa no doubt left his mark on the Warriors last season after being acquired on Jan. 3 for two protected second-round picks. Though he averaged just 12.5 minutes in 37 games with the Warriors, logging 20 minutes or more just five times, he emerged as a key reserve. His combination of size (6-foot-11, 225 pounds) and skill gave the Warriors matchup advantages and allowed the second unit to get out on the break. "He's just got to get some games under his belt," Warriors general manager Rod Higgins said. "He has a lot of skills. He has the ability to put the ball on the floor, the ability to shoot and handle." Cabarkapa said he knows he needs to work on his defense and develop an inside game. Since returning from his home country, Serbia-Montenegro, he's been working out regularly at the Warriors facility.</div> Source
I remember him as a Phoenix Sun. This guy has a lot of potential. I expect him to be a good player in the league.
I just hope we will be able to resign him along with the rest of our young guys if we elect to do that. He is going to be a solid player.
