For a 2nd round pick, per ESPN http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3491156 Excellent news for us, as it leaves the Clippers out of a possible big contract offer to Deng.
So is there anyone else we have to worry about? Warriors just gave Maggette that contract. Philly's cap space is tied up in Brand. Is it now up to Paxson/Reinsdorf/whomever to get this deal done?
Well, there's always the possibility of a sign and trade (a la Curry and Crawford to New York), and I think that Golden State could still do something even after figuring in the new contracts they've given out. But they don't seem like much of a threat since they can probably keep Monta Ellis for cheaper than Ben and with Maggette and Steven Jackson in the fold I don't see the logic to getting Deng.
Sign and trades with BYC players are hard to accomplish unless the other team has cap room. Dunno how GS's cap situation is. I am worried that the Bulls F.O. is going to explore sign and trade possibilities with Gordon. The part that worries me is taking a deal for the sake of taking a deal, and leaving us with a Hughes type player. If Gordon is indeed on the outside looking in (because of luxury tax implications), I hope we can get somewhat of a scorer/shooter to replace him. Martell Webster was someone who interested me pre-draft. He was available; Portland tried to trade him in a package for Ford.

But I agree that the majority of the stories seem to be pointing in the "Bulls want to deal Gordon" direction. Portland doesn't seem like a good fit for Gordon anymore since they've traded for Bayless. Come to think of it, I'm not really sure who is a good fit for him. I mean, who he fits with and could offer us something back. He'd be really good in Cleveland, for example, but do we really want to deal him (and one of our overpaid guys) there for an expiring contract? That would suck.
