Can the Ducks coaching staff contact Penn State players since they are free to leave or is it an instant that they have to wait for the players to contact them first? Any hear what the rules on this are going to be?
Well we have no offers to their 2013 class currently. Eugene Lewis( 22nd WR of 2012), Robert Bolden(2nd Dual QB of 2011), CJ Olaniyan(14th DE of 2010), Silas Redd(4th RB of 2010), Dakokta Royer(21 DE of 2010) and Justin Brown(30th WR of 2009) is what I can see so far. Oregon doesn't really recruit in that general area though.
SPD meant current players, I assume. Oregon still has two scholarships open for this season, so far as I can tell. I don't think they can overtly reach out to current PSU players, though, even with the sanctions. PSU players most likely still have to initiate any talks of transferring. Is there anybody on PSU's roster that would fit a position of need for Oregon? Maybe somebody for the offensive line, or another big DT?
They have a big all purpose running back that would be a great addition here. Not sure if our backs can take the pounding of a full season.
Well 4* CB Ross Douglas from Penn State committed to Michigan. And their 4* DT committed to UNC. So begins the mass exodus
If it weren't for your avatar I'd recommend banning you after that one- no matter how true it may be.
inb4 Wheels does a troll In other news Redd talked with Kiffin. Pretty much he's going to be a Trojan
Couple thoughts on Penn St. 1) The NCAA should not have had to put a punishment on PSU. PSU SHOULD HAVE DEATH PENALTIED THEMSELVES FIRST!!! The fact the NCAA had to tell them their football program needed punishment shows that PSU still doesn't understand the magnitude of the mess their school has been involved with for over 40 years! PSU should be the FIRST to clean up their own house!!! What happened at PSU in fact isn't a football issue the NCAA should be governing on. It's a school issue that put their football team infront of the safety of their children. The PSU president and board should upon Jerry's conviction addressed the nation and cancelled their football program for five years. They should have further addressed all of college football and apologized for giving college football this kind of dark cloud that will loom for years to come. They should have been very proactive and as an institution they FAILED!! Their football program already can't compete with OSU and Michigan and with these new sanctions they'll be at best a 500 team for the next 6-9 years. Canceling the football program, investing into their fine education system and letting these wounds heal would have been the classy and appropriate call. What will it take for Penn St. to understand the bigger picture here? Football doesn't ever trump the safety of our youth! 2) As for poaching their players, I don't want any part of it! If USC wants to pick the bones of a team that is limping to their death let them, it just shows how classy USC is once again. They haven't taken down the statue a week and LAMO and crew are trying to steal their players. It should say something that schools like Wisconsin and Northwestern and MSU have said they wont attempt to contact PSU players, but USC is the first buzzard at the carnage. Lamo is such a class act, it's no wonder the college fraternity thinks he's such an ass clown! I hope Oregon takes the high road here and doesn't go for the low lying fruit!
