Ok we all know that Allen Iverson has a huge heart and plays through injuries when ever it is possible. For the Philadelphia 76ers. I am looking at his Olympic performence so far yes it is admirable what he has been doing.

Playing with a broken thumb and the jammed finger in the exhibitions. It shows that he has a huge heart, but is it really what is best for the 76ers and Allen Iversons career in general? If he goes into the season with all these injuries can he really last all the way to may and into the playoffs healthy?

I am assuming that his thumb is healing fairly well and that he has a resposability as the captain to set an example for the team and leave it all on the court, but when he went to the olympics he said I want to represent the city of Philadelphia the best I can. If he performs well and team USA brings home the gold yet he comes to training camp all banged up and injured was it worth it?

Is it going to cost the team in the long run due to all the nagging injuries that may carry over from the Olympics to the regular season? If Iverson gets a injury where he cant play and it happens to be a re injury from the Olympics will people be saying it was admirable of him to play or that it was stupid for him to play with that in the Olympics he should have let it heal?

Anyway my question is since team USA is now in a win or go home situation as it is one game knock outs if Iverson suffers another injury should he play or rest the injury?

Really, I would probably rest the injury, because there's always the risk of making the injury even worse. But if you just rest it and give it time to heal, you won't really have to worry about it as much.
