I think it can. The streak is now at 14 games. In their next six games, they play Seattle, New York, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix and Golden State. The last four are away games. Sure Seattle and Phoenix are hot teams, but I think a team with a big man can beat them. Tim Duncan and the Spurs proved this.
Duncan and the Spurs proved what? The Spurs lost to Seattle back in November, 113-94. Then, in December, they lost to Seattle again (in San Antonio) 102-96. And for the Suns game, if it wasn't for Q-Rich and Marion shooting terribly, they might have had a chance. The Heat will beat the Sonics one game out of the two...but they won't beat the Suns. It's possible, but I don't think it'll happen.
My bad, they only beat the Suns. It will all come down to defense. If the Heat can keep the Sonics from shooting well (which is hard to do) and also slow down the Suns' perimiter offense, they should will all three games.

You can't make an excuse for their terrible shooting. THe Spurs defense didn't let the Suns get those easy baskets that they are comfortable left. The Spurs half-court is not impressive at all. Thats how San Antonio won. The Heat can beat the Sonics both games and the Suns will be quite a challenge. Come playoff time the only one of these so called elite teams that will be better than us is the Spurs and possibly the Wolves and Pistons. Both of them are in a funk.
I think since we are riding on so much confidence and momentum that we can extend it to a 20 game winstreak. I mean the only teams there that are a challenge are the Sonics and Suns... we can slow down the Sonics easily. They are in somewhat of a skid after being the top team. The Suns, we just have to stop their fast break, and it's over. Limit Marion and Q-Rich to bad shot selection. Give the ball to Shaq, since they have absolutly no answer to him. I think Amare could get into foul trouble. And the biggest advantage we have over them, is Wade. He will destroy the Suns horrible defense.
The only team I would be worried about is the suns, I will tell you why. You guys are a good 1/2 court team right now...when Shaq is on the floor...when Shaq is off the floor your a good running team...that's why you have been winning....you guys can switch your game play very quick and it has a good effect on the game. Look...the Suns can no doubt keep up with your 1/2 court game...but the minute Shaq sits down you guys are dead...why? Because your going to try and compete running the ball...and when you get into the game of trying to play into there game which I garentee you will happen with Pheonix...that is when you will loose it. But then again when Shaq is on the floor they can run the ball easier because he can't get up and down the floor to defend the break and the Pheonix players can which is bad. You guys are kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place playing them because if you play the slow 1/2 court game and utilize Shaq size there going to get a lot of easy hoops because they can get up the court and ware out the big fella but If you sit Shaq down and try to run with them...welll your going to get all run over. It will be real hard to get to 20 games...probably won't happen.

I am sure we can beat the Sonics, and the Suns I am not sure. When Shaq is on the floor they will not run up and down so easy. Shaq will get those offensive rebounds and score them shots low in the paint. Wade is also a good ball handler and won't allow NAsh to swipe it from him and then alley oop it to Amare Stoudemire. That won't happen and if it does not too often. Your right when Shaq is off the floor, but we are a pretty good running team none the less and can compete with them. Not sure how to describe it, but we'll see how it turns out
They can extend it to twenty. But they have to get by the Sonics and Suns. I don't think the Sonic's should be much of a threat but the Sun's are a different story.. The Heat should win if they can stop their fastbreak and force them to set up in a half-court ofense. Remember the Sun's don't have a true center. Shaq will be able to stop Amare if he can slow him down. But for this to happen Wade and Damon Jones have to stop Nash and Quentin Richardson from getting out on the fastbreak.
Of course not they won 14 straight but, they have the Knicks on Tuesday . But, I think they could but, I think they are bound to lose. They are an elite team but, 20 is real hard. What was the longest streak anyway?

I think Miami has a chance to make it to 20, but its going to be very difficult, especially when they go to Phoenix and Seattle. Those teams like the run the court and put up the long shots, but I think they are going to have difficulty defending Shaq. Its going to be tough, but the way this team is playing now, I wouldnt be surprised if they did run it to 20.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Semmi:</div><div class="quote_post">Sorry Heat fans, but we just are the better team right now....</div> I would wait until after the return match in Seattle before saying that, dude. We have played much better on the road than at home lately, and were fortunate to escape in normal time, rather than going to OT.
Well RIGHT NOW the Sonics are better than the Heat. better record and they beat them on their own court to break the Heat's big win streak. Just like the Heat RIGHT NOW are better than the Pistons, although come playoff time I don't expect that to remain the case.

Sonics won and they were the better team. How surely they won, that's irrelevant. I just hope that I can say that same line after the next game...
