If he's agreed in principle to a deal with Houston, he can technically pull out of the deal but almost certainly won't.
If you pay him 50 mill for 3 years, I'm sure he'll pull out of the Rockets deal. Otherwise, he's a Rocket.
Some media outlets are saying that Ariza may go to whomever loses out on Turk. Please no. As much as Turk isn't worth $10 mil, Ariza isn't worth $8 mil. I'd maybe match Houston's offer. That should be worth it. Houston, with no T-Mac, Yao, or Artest is lucky not to finish in the West's cellar.
Rudy was mildly pissed about us signing Hedo. I'm sure he'll be wildly in favor of this move. He and Ariza are best buds.
Ariza wouldn't help this team all that much. He played GREAT in a contract year in a system where he can succeed. Here, he wouldn't be that much better than Outlaw.
Why would he love it? Don't you recall Ariza injuring Rudy with a mid-air take-down? Honestly, Soda, I think you're way off on this one. He might let bygones be bygones, since it just seemed like a hard foul and not a malicious move, but I doubt he'd be best friends with Ariza.
One, I agree with Soda. It could happen. But it's unlikely because it'd likely piss Rudy off in two way: 1. It probably takes minutes from Rudy 2. Ariza pulled a Kobe on Rudy The second thing is, are people dumb or what? We go over it every year people. Until the contract is signed, players can do whatever they want. Nobody can sign until July 8th. That means that guys who "agreed"/verbally committed to deals, can rescind. Those that say, "No, Ariza cannot rescind his agreement," let this serve as a reminder for next year, and the next year, and....Why the hell do you think Portland papers and radio talk show hosts keep saying, "Nothing is official until July 8th."?? Cuz teams and players can back out of anything and everything until the July 8 moratorium has passed and things are submitted for league approval.
