Dampier, NVE for Shane Battier Watson Bo Outlaw Contracts wouldn't match up but if you throw in Speedy instead of NVE would that be lopsided? We would get the defender/shooter in Shane Battier, we'd get Troy Bell who can defend, and we'd get Bo Outlaw as a good defensive guy. Normally I would regard Speedy as kind of untouchable (he's got everything I like about him except for healthiness, size, and shooting range), but I'm just a big fan of what Shane Battier does for a team (defense, shooting, all around game). It probably wouldn't be a good thing though if Battier's contract is done by next year and we have to worry about signing three players intead of two (Murphy, Richardson) But if Battier can support Dunleavy or Dunleavy can support Battier it might be a really good year and it culd be a possibility to sign all 3 and then trade two of the 3 or one of the 3 if Cohan was willing to go over the cap for a short period of time until Pietrus, Dunleavy and Biedrens are due. Cohan better show he's willing to spend I tell you. BTW I think Cliff Robinson and NVE will definitely be on the move before February. That's a given, especially if Biedrens/Murphy, is taking away more minutes from him. Memphis would get a solid backup guard to close out games and they'd get Erick Dampier, a player that West was high on since last year. Then we'd get some expiring contracts in Outlaw a backup guard in Troy Bell depending on if we keep Speedy or Van Exel. We'd get Shane Battier who we need to have hit some big shots and be able to defend other forwards that Dunleavy just can't handle. So imagine this lineup. Dunleavy - pg Pietrus or Richardson - sg Battier or Richardson - sf Biedrens - pf Troy Murphy/Foyle - C Offense goes through Murphy and Dunleavy. Murph would act as a high post center with Foyle or Biedrens as a PF playing close to the basket. Murph could have some options on whether to feed Foyle in the post (which I don't know if he has polished post skills yet) or around a backdoor cut as he's moving without the ball towards the rim or feed the ball to Dunleavy on a post up play against their point guard. You could then feed Pietrus, Battier, or Richardson or Murphy from some midrange shots or some 3 balls on a collapsed defense over Dunleavy. Bell is a decent shooter as well so if you run a play involving Dunleavy posting up a 6'7 forward, you could do a similar play with Dunleavy playing his original position. Hopefully, if Dunleavy has gained any weight he should be able to shove these other smaller forwards out of the paint and force double teams. This is why I wanted Dunleavy to bulk up. Also the same thing could work with Murphy posting up forwards and Cliff Robinson acting as the high post center since he's got passing skills. Then we could put both Troy's on the court as shooters, Richardson, Battier, or Pietrus in as the cutters or shooters. There's just so many different plays you could do with having Battier in there, you just gotta be creative. And hopefully if we got a good mix of shotblockers/rebounders/man to man defenders, it will all come together into a really good team defense we could have.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">Well I'm pretty certain Dampier is headed to NY.</div> You know I'm going to enjoy watching Dampier play after Starbury doesn't give him the ball.
Same here. I will not be one of the guys rooting for Dampier to succeed. I'm a Warriors lover for life. You disrespect my team, you feel the wrath of Rudeezy.
We better get a third center if we're taking on Mohammed. Any ideas? I still think we should grab Rebraca if he thinks he's ready to play. One things for sure I think injuries will be another reality this year. The chemistry on the court will get messed up again.
You know I actually wouldn't mind Hunter as a third string if he can run cheap. Anyway we might need an extra C/PF in case Mohammed goes down and Biedrens ain't ready yet, preferably a shotblocker. BTW, Is DePaul where you went to school, TheFuller? Since you know about this guy's game so much describe what else this guy can offer besides shotblocking. I don't know much about this guy's game other than Orlando wishes they handn't signed him in the first round.
The warriors would still have eshmeyer as the third center and Murphy or Robinson could aslo play some center, so an extra center wouldn't really be necessary. Some depth at SF would be nice though. I think the only true sf the warriors would have is Dunleavy. Richardson and Pietrus can play that postion aslo though
I havent seen him play in person, but i saw atleast 6-7 games on tv w/ depaul 2000-2001, and he did impress me. He's pretty quick on the inside, decent footwork, and pretty nice hook .I'd say he reminded me of a Chris Bosh. Though in college he was somewhat puny (220 lbs.), he's put on some weight in the past few years in orlando. More info on him http://www.ibiblio.org/craig/draft/2001_dr...rs/hunter.shtml

Probably has developed a nice midranger and he just receives the ball and shoots it over his opponent probably.
