    Guess Jay-Z did okay LOL

Wow we are fucked. Gardner for Phillips or Omar Infante?

Guess they go after Choo and become an OBP gap hitting team.

    What say you?

Robinson Cano and the Seattle Mariners have agreed to sign a 10-year, $240-million contract, a source told ESPNdeportes.com Friday.

The player and his agents met Thursday night in Seattle with the Mariners' top executives and the team made an offer he couldn't refuse, the source added.

The source said Cano will return to Seattle on Sunday and will undergo a physical on Monday to complete what would be the third largest contract in history, tied with the one that Albert Pujols signed with Los Angeles Angels three years ago.

Alex Rodriguez has the top two contracts in baseball history. In the winter of 2007, A-Rod signed a 10-year, $275 million extension with the New York Yankees, replacing the 10-year and $252 million pact that had been stamped with Texas in December 2000 .

I wonder because Cano is so close to Arod if that had any affect on Cano's decision.

...when did I refer to it as a "BS dinner"?...another swing and miss by you.

...your position swings with every tweet that comes down the pike...difference is, you take every news snippet as gospel, when it suit your agenda du jour.

Sure it's good. He's paid for life. Nobody would say no to three more years worth $75 million.

Seattle is as good as the Yankees on paper where we stand on December 6. They are certainly not done. They have as good a 1-2 starting rotation punch as there is in MLB and they have the prospects to pull off a big trade, David Price? Seager is very good. They are set at 2B-SS-3B now. They can probably go take a flyer by trade on a guy like Ike Davis and look to bring in Nelson Cruz in the OF to round out the middle of their order.

Money and financial security was going to be set for Cano and his family regardless of the decision on teams. What I can't get out of my head, is how this is a good move from an after baseball perspective. I also think, and I'm about to get grilled for this, that the Caribbean ball player is laid back, thus the no hustle to first routine, I even question his Manny Sanguillen approach at the plate. He will be miss, and he is talented, but he did not want to be a Yankee, he would have gotten the equal amount of money regardless. I see this as a laid back player going to a laid back city. I see the Yankees turning Cano's money into 2 or 3 very good players. And one more further point, Cano may have done us a favor...

I never had an issue w/Cano's lack of hustle, not one bit. The reason being the guy played 160 games EVERY year. He didnt take a day off, so the lazy label is ridiculous. On top of that Cano is one of the slowest people in MLB. If he ran everything out maybe in his career he picks up 1 hit per season, maybe. More likely is he pulls a hammy trying to beat out a bobbled ball. One DL stint costs us more hits/bases than he'd ever have made up with hustle.

If Cano missed games all the time on top of the jog, I'd have an issue, but I'll take a HOF player who shows up and plays everyday any day of the week. We have NOTHING like him. We dont have a single player on this team you can pencil in for 160 games. Not one. Teix, McCann, Ellsbury our 3 best players currently under contract miss games often.

...I prefaced my question with "other than money".
