First, I'd like to say...I'm glad all of the major hold outs are taken care of...Seymour is back in Pats camp, TO shaped up, Alexander decided 6.3 million was fine, and Javon Walker realized it was a lost cause...a similar fate will occur with Hines Ward as well...That said, I still can't blame any of these guys...Without guarenteed contracts, these players are much more vulnerable to just be cut at almost no cost to the team....these players have to get the money while they still can...They can't sign a long term deal, not produce...and end up with that money...a little signing bonus is all they get....not to mention football player's contracts are generally much smaller than Baseball or Basketball contracts...I just can't blame these guys trying to get money while they still can....and in the end, theres no harm done...Fantasy owners will breathe easier knowing their studs will be on the field come Sunday....PEACE

i would be pissed if i was a head coach and my star was holding out, every one needs to be like jerry rice who is more about the game than the money IMO

John Abraham still isnt in camp by what ive heard [IMG] Now I believe that when you are not getting paid according to what you should be making, then you should hold out as in Javon Walker or Hines Ward. Players like Hines Ward deserve the money though since Hines is about the 5th best WR and the 35 best paid. But to me, it is complete BS when a player turns down a franchise tag offer because its not enough money. Since when is 6 million a year not enough? Since when is 49 million dollers not enough for TO? Those players need to get themselves back in camp and get their head examed.

TO is gone after this year, so I don't think he'll be seeing most of that 49 million dollars.I really don't think you should hold out until your second year of outperforming a contract (to the point where it's ridiculous). That's just my opinion. Obviously you know that I don't think TO should've held out. He agreed to the deal only a year ago...

They have it quite easy if you ask me.

Hold outs are stupid. They are making millions of dollars (more than they should to play a game). Guys like TO saying he can't feed his family under his current contract are a joke! I'm just getting sick of these greedy bastards getting what they want all the time. I love the game of football as much as the next, but I am getting sick of some of the players and their attitudes.

Sure, players are overpaid compared to the average person's salary in this world. It's not fair, but hey, it's business.Let me ask you this:Sports brings in a ton of revenue. Wouldn't you rather the players get it than the owners? I mean, if the players don't make alot of money, the owners make a huge amount (I know, even more). I think that would be a much bigger injustice.

I would rather that money go back into the community than in someone's pocket, lol.

lol So would everyone, but the world is greedy. Money is the most important thing to alot of people, which is why the community will only get small cuts. They only get small cuts because they have to get them. I think there are only a true few good people in the league. If you don't give back, you look pretty bad, you know?

    Re: Can't blame Holdouts

I agree with T.O. holding out but he shouldn't be making a big deal out of it and he should approach it like Hines Ward did. I think he should be paid what he deserves 'cause everyone knows what he can do on the field. This is just my opinion.
