QUOTE

Fabio Capello has been confirmed as the new coach of the England national after the final details on a four-and-a-half year deal were ironed out.

The Italian trainer has put pen-to-paper on a contract worth around £6m a year and has an opt-out clause included to be able to to leave in 2010.

Football Association board members have been working relentlessly to land their man after José Mourinho reportedly rejected the role.

One key point of controversy was over who Capello wanted with him, but the FA relented after he assured them that he would also include a number of English coaches in his staff.

Capello is bringing with him Franco Baldini, Italo Galbiati, Franco Tancredi and Massimo Neri as he looks to lay the groundwork in his new post.

    Big news for England.

I wish him nothing but luck and want him to succeed. Maybe win the world cup in 2010?

Asafe choice for England. Capello is the right man to bring them to the World Cup, the question is if his style of play (defensive minded) is really what the English FA and fans are looking to see.

Well after waiting so many years without a cup, hopefully it doesn't matter to them how he wins it.

But he's the man to do it, with lot of experience.

He will be good, but I don't think he will win the World cup.

He is expected to get these assistants:

     •Franco Baldini
Former Roma sporting director Baldini is likely to be appointed as assistant manager but will occupy a position similar to that of Tord Grip under Sven-Goran Eriksson in a hands-off, advisory role.

    •Italo Galbiati
Galbiati is expected to fill a role next to Capello in the Wembley dug-out, operating in a motivational and coaching role more similar to that of - dare we say it - Steve McClaren under Eriksson.

    •Massimo Neri
Fitness trainer at Juventus and Real Madrid during Capello's spells and an integral member of the team due to the manager's reliance on physical strength and speed.

    •Franco Tancredi
Goalkeeping coach and Roma legend from his days between the sticks who represented Italy at the 1986 World Cup and has been with `Don Fabio' throughout nearly all of his managerial career.

Not a good choice considering that this team will be revamped come 2010 through their youth.

Im sure he'll dobetter than Mclaren that for sure, but Mourinho would have been the ideal candidate in my choice. Most of englandsproblems are attitude and ego problems, not so much the technical side of the game, the skill is there.

Well the defense is missing? (if I'm correct)

Capello said in an interview that England players seem to have a mental block and can't get any further in the cups. Lets see if he takes that away.

    I think he will.
