Capitals acquire enforce D.J. King from Blues for Rovere.

The Washington Capitals have acquired enforcer D.J. King from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for prospect Stefan Della Rovere.

The 26-year old King did not register a point in 12 games with the Blues last season but picked up 33 penalty minutes. In 101 career NHL games the Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan native has four goals, five assists and 185 penalty minutes.

King was originally selected in the sixth round, 191st overall, by the Blues in the 2002 Entry Draft.

Meanwhile the 20-year old Della Rovere captained the Barrie Colts to the OHL Eastern Conference Championship. Following the OHL season he joined the Hershey Bears of the AHL, skating in two games during the Bears Calder Cup Championship run.

He also was part of Canada's silver medal winning team at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship after helping Canada capture gold at the 2009 World Junior Championship.

The Richmond Hill, Ontario native was originally selected by Washington in the seventh round, 204th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Looks like the Capitals are now trying to build more around Ovi. An enforcer is always great to have on a team.
