The U.S. Capitol was placed on lockdown for the second time in a week on Tuesday, amid reports of a person with a gun at the nearby Department of Labor. The lockdown was lifted approximately 30 minutes after it was ordered, sending a brief ripple throughout the Capitol but otherwise leaving the building undisturbed. A spokesman with Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department said the lockdown of the Capitol was put in place after shots were fired near the Capitol Grounds.
