Second baseman Skip Schumaker may be nearing a rehab assignment with Class AAA Memphis next week. The club has yet to notify him of its plans but it's believed his progress from a triceps and ligament strain is sufficient for him to resume game activity. Schumaker has been on the disabled list since April 16 and projected for a return after six weeks. Lefthanded reliever Brian Tallet is also close to a rehab assignment.
