"Cardinals quarterback Derek Anderson was only partly kidding Wednesday when he suggested to reporters that they stay away from the team's young receivers, who already are under enough pressure. "Don't everybody go to their lockers and start hounding them and giving them a hard time," Anderson said. Rookies Stephen Williams and Max Komar, however, haven't appeared to be scared of much since signing with the team as undrafted rookies last spring. Their self-confidence is a big reason they made the team in the first place. But they will be tested like never before Sunday at San Diego. Two of the team's top three receivers, Steve Breaston and Early Doucet, are out because of injuries. Of the five healthy receivers on the roster, only Larry Fitzgerald caught a pass in the NFL before this season. "They get their chance to step up," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "Those guys have been running in and out since the first week. They've made catches for us, all of them have. They've got playing time. It's not going to change our game plan." Breaston, the No. 2 receiver, underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. He is likely to miss at least two games, although the Cardinals haven't given up hope that it will be only one." http://www.azcentral.com/sports/car...zona-cardinals-starting-rookie-receivers.html
