Good for him, I figured he'd get the Pittsburgh job. Id have to question how successful he will be though if he couldn't get the Pittsburgh job. They've seen him work for years and if they felt he was HC material they surely would have offered him the job IMO.

Good hire. They go O-line in the draft now so that he can install his Power Running Game IMO.

Big ups for the Cards, big drop for the Steelers. They are going to miss him in Pittsburgh. I bet Russ Grimm will be the new HC in Pitt now..

Yea Russ Grimm will get the job no doubt now. He should bring back Mike Mularky as O cordinator.

The Steelers do NOT need to hire a hot assistant. What they need to do is hire an older retread coach who can be the care-taker of the team for 3 or 4 years before they hire who they want for the next decade. That way the expectations don't kill the hot young assistant they hire in the future.

If he fails, then they can move on to the next Hot Assistant and be at the exact same spot as they would be if they were under a 'caretaker'

Their ownership is patient as long as they think they are going in the right direction.
