<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Highly rated Argentine goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo has finally completed his move to Lazio, and he has been presented to the club’s fans.

The 24-year-old was due to sign for the Biancocelesti from Argentine giants River Plater last summer, however the move stalled after issues arose concerning the player’s Italian citizenship.

Carrizo claimed to have an Italian great grandfather, which would have allowed him to be registered as a non-EU player.

This was rejected last summer, meaning that Lazio went into the campaign with the 43-year-old Marco Ballotta as their first choice-stopper.

Attempts were again made for Carrizo to officially complete his move in the January transfer window, however again the transfer couldn’t be finalised. At long last, the paperwork has all been sorted out, and Carrizo was today officially presented to the Lazio fans.

“I want to thank all the supporters for having waited for me,” the shot-stopper smiled. “It’s a very important day for me and I want to do my best here. Forza Lazio!

“I dreamed of coming to Italy and I chose Lazio because I liked the club and its tradition of Argentine players.

“I am proud to be a part of this team and I hope to play a big role. Who are my idols? Santiago Canizares, Julio Sergio and Gigi Buffon.”

Carrizo, who is regarded as one of South America’s best young goalkeepers, has won one cap for Argentina.</div>
