Now I know personally that Nelson will continue to start for the Magic, but I believe that Carlos will cut into Jameer's minutes and get more PT. I mean the stats alone are interesting enough. Carlos Arroyo: 17.3ppg/3.3apg/2.3rbs/1.33tos Jameer Nelson: 11.8ppg/2.8apg/2.8rbs/4.75tos Nelson needs to step up and stop getting those damn turnovers. That's really killing us right now. Arroyo has been absolutely great for the Magic thus far and could continue if Nelson doesn't get it done.
Here is a recent Florida Today article about Arroyo vs. Nelson: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Improving to 2-2, the Magic might now have a full-blown controversy on their hands as it relates to their starting point guard position. Arroyo scored 12 of his team-high 23 points in the fourth quarter. Of his last 15 points, four of them tied the game and four others gave the Magic leads. Arroyo's fading jumper from the foul line gave the Magic a 105-99 lead with 2:20 to play. More importantly, he had four assists and no turnovers in 27 minutes. The game followed Sunday's performance, one in which Arroyo made all nine of his shots against the Hawks. Nelson, meanwhile, continued to struggle with his ball handling and looks tentative for the first time in his three NBA seasons. Nelson didn't play in the fourth quarter and scored just eight points. He has 19 turnovers in four games after fumbling the ball away five times on Monday. Magic coach Brian Hill said he has no plans to switch his starting lineup Wednesday when Orlando hosts Seattle. But he insisted he will play the guard who has the hot hand. "I don't want to hurt (Nelson's) confidence in any way because he's a really good player," Hill said. "Jameer usually plays with a great deal of confidence. There's no controversy. They respect one another. We'll stay the way we are and see what happens."</div> Source Sounds like Nelson is going to remain the starter but whoever is producing the most will be in the game.
