Carlos Boozer: "We can make the playoffs"

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What is your take on your play so far this season?

Carlos Boozer: I think it's been pretty good. I'm trying to get better and better as the season goes along, but I think I've played pretty well.

Are you surprised you've been able to make such an impact so early in your career?

CB: Not surprised. I've always been confident in my abilities. I think last year I proved to myself I could play at this level, and this year I'm just continuing on with it.

On the offensive end, are there any plays set for you?

CB: A few. I mean every now and then, I get a play. But usually I just go out there, run the court hard, hustle and get offensive rebounds; do those types of things.

How did playing for Coach K and going through the Duke program help prepare you to play in the NBA?

CB: I think it prepared me well. I learned a lot of basketball fundamentals there offensively and defensively. Even though the college game is way different than the NBA game, I think just the principles were definitely ingrained in me at that point and it helped me at this level.

What's your evaluation of the Cavs play thus far this year?

CB: I think we're doing all right. We're getting better and better, especially with the new additions. With Eric Williams and Tony Battie and Kedrick Brown, we've gotten a lot better in every aspect as far as everybody thinking about the team and not individuals. And I think we're moving forward at a rapid pace right now.

Do you and the team set goals in terms of wins?

CB: We want to make the playoffs. I don't know what the wins will be. I think we just want to make the playoffs and establish ourselves as a tough team in the East.

Do you think that's a realistic goal given your record thus far?

CB: I think we have a chance. I think we have to keep playing as we've been playing. Play tough defense. The offense is going to go up and down. You never know if the ball is gonna bounce in or not, but if we can continue to play the good defense we've been playing, I think we have a chance. Because so many teams in the East are fluctuating up and down I think we have a good chance of getting in there.

Anyone in the east can make the playoffs.

The Cavs could possible make them as well because they have been close in most of their games played. They just need to reduce the turnovers and make sure Lebron has the ball in the final minutes.

I don't see them making it this year, but after Lebron has a few seasons under his belt, they will definitely be there.

Hmm... Sorry to say it, but I disagreee with Mr.Boozer here!
I don't think we'll reach the playoffs this season, but next season we will:)
The reason I says this is because I think the team got to be more comfortable to playing with each other, and I don't think they will be that before next season!
So, keep up the good work Cavs, you reach the playoffs next year!

    I'll defend Booz here...

The Sixers are the 8th seed at 14-18, the Cavs are 2-0 against them this year and a game under .500 since the trade. So the pace is not bad, it just needs to be picked up a little, which is reasonable.

Yeah, I really like this guy boozer. He is going to be an excellent piece around Lebron as the Cavs get better in the future. He is the type of player every superstar needs on his team. A strong finisher around the basket, who can turn Lebron's penetration & passes into 2pts. And like the Article said you dont have to run any set plays for him because he is willing to get most of his points by working the offensive glass. And the Article didnt really talk about this but he has a little range for a bigman. He can make that 15-18 foot jumpshot, which stretches the defense. The person I see him developing into to help the Cavs & Lebron James win in the future, is a guy like Horace Grant from the early bulls championships.

They aren't like how the Timberwolves were, but they need more defense, they have good defenders and stealers in my opinion but they'll need someone to either replace Ilgauskas or have as a good supporter ot backup. I too think they won't make the playoffs but probably next year especially with more help, as for which round, I can't even think or estimate as to where or whether they'll land past the second round.

If Lebron continues to play as well as he is, Cleveland might go .500 the rest of the season. If Z gets traded for Rasheed, Cavs will go .600
