Potentially its obvious... but let me know who would u rather have on ur team Next season! Screw the future sh|t. NEXT season. I find it kind of hard to choose.. Speak up
This is tough, good topic. But I will go for Ray Allen for 3 reasons: 1. Better shooting percentages 2. Consistancy 3. Ability to get it done come playoff time I am a huge fan of both of these guys. Melo is an outstanding young player who is bigger and has a much better post game. I say they are close to even defensively, but Ray Allen has better court vision and uses his team more, along with those 3 things listed above. And obviously the 3 point shooting, but I'm not gunna pick Ray because of that. He's just a better all around player, more consistant, and gets it done in the playoffs. Melo can shoot some 3's, but shot around 25% this year from down there, is not as consistant, and he simply does not get it done in the postseason, all 3 years.
Ill go wih Melo. Melo scores more on a more efficient mark. He is a great spot up shooter. Neither are good defenders but Melo can take it the hole better than he used to and he is more athletic IMO.Ray is the better shooter. That isnt very much.

He is more consistant, more efficient scorer, and gets it done in the playoffs.
Give me Melo.Better scorer, Better rebounder, Shoots a higher FG%.He is a better leader also. He lead Denver to the playoffs 3 years in a row with a worse roster than Ray Allens Sonics. The thing that gives Melo the edge is his ability to perform in the clutch. He leads the league in game winning FG%. Anthony in his two-plus NBA seasons has made 10 out of 16 game-winning or game-tying shots in the final 24 seconds of a game. His .625 shooting percentage with the game on the line is more than twice the league average of .294.Here are the leaders for game winning shots in there career in terms of percentage62% in the clutch is pretty amazing.

Jerome James? Give me a break. And that stat sheet looks nice, what were his percentages in the playoffs all those 3 years though buddy? Exactly, point taken.
lets make things clear overall through this season, the Nuggets team is better than the sonics... Andre miller camby kenyon martin and boykins on the bench and melo, excluding reggie evans late rebound add-on. The nuggets is a very good team.. What happened in the playoffs? idk... cause i didn't feel like watching them lose. Ray on the other hand leading the northwest division last year took the sonics to the playoffs AND got past the first round and actually put a fight up against the spurs better than the SUNS(which was a better team the sonics that year supposedly).Nuggets roster is better than sonics this year and there is no doubt to that.If the sonics would have a better chance at winning games ray would have a lot more clutch shots. Which he is very good at. I'm not saying he is better than melo, but don't deny the fact that he is a good clutch shooter also.In all, I'd pick ray next season because melo is not a leader yet. Karl is his puppet master and why they have improved. Ray don't need Karl.... just a better team.(Wait im crossing over into bucks thoughts.....ima shutup now and not confuse myself or readers.
Easy one for me. I'll take Melo. Has more all-around game, and he is a winner. Ray Allen has a decent enough supporting cast and his team did horrible I'll take Melo. Also I know you said screw the future, but Melo could be much better next year, Allen has plateaued.
I honestly don't know why ppl think ray allen is gonna fall of the top of the cliff..He is still climbin he aint gonna become micheal finley commin off da bench shootin threes. Or like kerr..

He has gone to the playoffs like once since he has been in Seatle and they went out in the 2nd round. Carmelo is young so he will be improved next year and he brings more to the game than Allen does. He can score, rebound, and is a better leader as well. I say Melo.
It's hard to compare these two, because they are two completely different types of players. Even though both are mainly scoreres and that is it, they way they score is completely different. Ray Allen is a three point shooter mainly, and that is about it. Most of his shots come from outside the arc, and he relies more on ball movement, off the ball screens on his man, and getting the ball fed to him. Carmelo Anthony's game is more Mid Range shooting, and driving to the rim. He doesn't need other people to get him the ball for his shot, he can create on his own. Neither really play good defense, and neither rebound overly great. As far as which player i would rather have though, Carmelo Anthony would be my choice. I would rather have the player like Anthony that can create his own shot, and is good on the fast break like Anthony. It just seems to me, it is easier to shut down Ray Allen right now, than it is to shut down Carmelo Anthony. As far as the playoffs thing, Carmelo's teams have reached the playoffs every year he has been in the league so far. Ray Allen's teams have not made it to the playoffs, which is a point for Anthony in my eyes. I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one that thinks this, but just reaching the playoffs gives a team more of a chance of doing good in the playoffs, than a team that doesn't make the playoffs.
Ray doesnt go into the playoffs? hmmm I guess thats true......At least ray can get his team past the first round He also can create his own shot if u watch his mid range game. Moreover, he can drive to the lane as good as carmelo as a smaller player. Idk if u watched him play but thats just what i see when he plays. He doesnt just settle for 3 pointers, ur basically just calling him a role player. and like i stated before he is no Kerr

Carmelo in this one. He is a more efficient scorer, shooter and can hit the shot when the game is on the line. They both are about even in defense, you might have to give Ray Allen the edge there. Plus Melo's got the size advantage.
