<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Nuggets' guard Carmelo Anthony actually thought he was the one who had been traded before learning teammate Marcus Camby had been dealt recently to the Clippers. "Everybody was blowing my phone up," Anthony said. "So I picked up my phone and called back someone who said, 'Did you hear what happened?'. I said, 'Where am I going now?' I was just laughing and joking [before the trade] about how much was involving the Denver Nuggets right now. So I was like, 'Where am I going?' They said, 'Camby got traded.' I said, 'Let me call you back,' and I got off the phone. It was tough to see a guy like that, especially for me, this is my fifth year and I played five years with Camby, it was like we almost started an organization together. To see a Defensive Player of the Year just leave like that for nothing, I still don't understand that."</div> Source
It's funny how the Nuggets got a 2nd round pick for Camby and the Nets got a 1st round pick for Marcus.
Is Melo going to leave in 2010? This won't improve the team immediately, and they I don't see them going back to the playoffs for a while now that Camby is gone. They had no defense before he was traded. And now that he's gone? Somehow they will have even less.
Well should I post on his blog where to go to find the reason why Camby was offloaded? Should I invite Melo to go here? Nuggets Fail Economics No, I wouldn't do that to my man the Melo man; he has nothing to do with the mistake that was made, absolutely nothing, and so he'll just have to go on not understanding why Camby was given away. Remember the old expression: "What they don't know can't hurt em?" It applies here. I really don't want Melo to know right now that his franchise is a chump franchise, strange as that may sound. The financial smash up of the Nuggets is only one of many things which Melo can realize if it is destiny that he will come down from the Rockies. When and if fate dictates it, he himself will have to understand that he must come down from the Rockies if he is serious in the quest for the ring.
