I'm guesing you've all heard the rumour about Caron to the Magic for Gooden and Declerq, what do you think of this. It would have our lineup as: PG - Wade SG - Jones SF - Odom PF - Gooden C - (Hopefully Blount) Isn't too bad, I think it's good if we can land Blount, Odom will now be more of a playmaker, and cause even more problems for SF's, and it can really help. The only thing for me is that even though Caron wasn't scoring or whatever, he was playing great defense, and he was a beast on the boards late in the season and during the playoffs.
Drew Gooden brings nothing to this team. We dont need him. I think Lamar can create more matchup problems at the 4 spot. Someones got to go, though. The Heat have too many perimeter players. I think Caron might be the one going but I dont know for whom.
Odom can create more complications at the pf spot. He can utilize his quickness and handling abilities to create havoc against slower pfs. At the sf spot, the only problem he can really create is height problems. That's about all. I think he's better at the pf spot personally. He thrived there when he was there this past season.
Well their's going to be more to to it because Caron makes 1.9 million, and Gooden and Declerq make a combined 5.97 million, so the deal can't work staright up like that.
I don't think Caron should go... Lamar is amazing at the 4 spot. We need Jones and Grant gone, seriously the front office should try to do wahtever it takes to get rid of them before this season starts.
Yea, Grant and Jones are making far too much money for that team. Not too mention that they're getting old and are no longer as valuable to that team due to the fact that Dwayne Wade emerged as a stud last year, Odom had a career year, and Butler would have had a much better year had he not been injured for a good part of it. I think they could trade off Jones and Grant for a couple quality players and still be very good. Cause, yea, they really need to unload both of those salaries.
Heat The fact that Eddie Jones and Brian Grant are old and are no longer as valuable are the main reason why they cannot be moved. No team is going to pick either one of their massive contracts unless another player like Caron(friendly contract) is packaged along with them. I would hate to see Caron go. Especially because I think we have yet to see him hit his prime. But if the Heat can get rid of Eddie Jones' contract, then Caron might just have to go. WHO DO YOU GUYS THINK WILL NOT BE IN A HEAT UNIFORM NEXT SEASON ?? CARON BUTLER, RASUAL BUTLER, RAFER ALSTON, EDDIE JONES. I think one of them will be lost. Grant is out of the question because his contract is just outrageous and word is he wont even pass a physical for another team because of those banged up knees. Just for fun: WHAT PLAYER DO YOU THINK WOULD BE EQUAL VALUE FOR DWYANE WADE RIGHT NOW?

I've never understood these "rumours"(note the quotes) since they started. csan somebody tell me why?
alston is a free agent and unless miami gives him a offer higher then anyone else then hes gone I wouldnt trade wade for the person who said that
I think it should be alston that goes, seriously he's not going to get much better than what he got last year. Rasual Butler still has a lot potential, he'll be a good player. Caron will get better, and noone wants Eddie Jones. I think a legitamate trade would be Wade for noone, he's goign to be amazing.

Quoting heatfan:

Just for fun: WHAT PLAYER DO YOU THINK WOULD BE EQUAL VALUE FOR DWYANE WADE RIGHT NOW?
Gilbert Arenas, that's about all, their are other players but positions won't work for the team.
I wouldn't trade Wade for anything if I were the Heat. Especially, and I mean especially, after the way he carried that team in the playoffs and all season. When they started off 0-7, they were left for dead. He, along with the likes of Odom, Jones, Butler, and Grant, willed that team in the playoffs. However, I believe that if it wasn't for Wade, the Heat would never have made the playoffs and would have very possibly had the worst record. Just personal opinion though. And, about Alston, didn't someone say earlier that Alston wasn't getting resigned due to his poor playoff performance. If that's the case, they'll be in dire needs of finding a new back up point guard. (btw, this is why I am still utterly confused why they didn't get Nelson)

I wouldnt trade Wade for anyone at this point. There is no one in the NBA who is this young and talented and has such a friendly rookie contract. The Heat will have to resign Rafer Alston. They were counting on that when they didnt take Jameer Nelson. The fact that his stock dropped because of his poor play in the playoffs actually benefits the Heat because he is still affordable. The Heat only have a 1 & 5.1 Mil. exception. but they need to address the obvious problem at the Center position and they need another backup point guard. Look for Wade to stay running the point for the Heat at least another season. I still think Caron will be the one to go. Some might disagree, but I believe Rasual Butler might end up being a better player if he can strengthen his defense.
Bad news, Skip is gone. The Raptors took him witha 6 year contract. Now we have no back up PG, so I don't know where we are going to find a backup PG that is legitemate...
