Carpenter plays catch with no problems

    "Righthander Chris Carpenter, who suffered a strained left hamstring while pitching Tuesday, did his first baseball activity since then this morning when he played catch for 15 minutes or so with assistant athletic trainer Barry Weinberg.

    Other than Weinberg tossing a couple of balls over Carpenter's head _ "Barry had good carry," said Carpenter _ nothing was amiss.

    "I still feel (the leg injury) a little bit," said Carpenter, "but if it keeps getting better every day like it has, then it will be fine.""
