Triple-A Columbus right-hander Carlos Carrasco threw a successful side session Friday, keeping him in contention for Tuesday night's start against the Yankees at Progressive Field.

Indians manager Manny Acta said the team will announce its Tuesday starter following Sunday's series finale against the Rays.

Carrasco left his outing last Tuesday with elbow stiffness, but Acta and Tribe pitching coach Tim Belcher said that the condition isn't considered serious.

David Huff and Josh Tomlin are also candidates to assume the rotation spot of Aaron Laffey, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday -- retroactive to July 20 -- with left shoulder fatigue.

    "We're still deciding," Acta said.
