Carter arrives for Raptors camp but still wants out of Toronto October 4, 2004 <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">TORONTO (AP) -- Vince Carter plans to play hard for the Raptors, even though he still wants out of Toronto. ``It's stupid for me to come up here, and just because I want a trade I'm going to mope and pout. That's dumb,'' Carter said Monday, a day before training camp opens. ``I'm coming here to play. I'm going to do whatever needs to be done until further notice.''</div> <div align="center"><u>ESPN Link</u> </div> <font color="red"><font size="1">When posting an article don't post the entire thing, post 2-3 paragraphs and a link for the article. You know what. I think Vince is just saying he wants out on purpose when he really doesn't mean it, so he can get all the critics/media/fans to hate on him and blame him so he can prove all of them wrong by playing like a MVP next season.
Well, I think he realizes now that no team is willing to offer a fair trade for him, and now he just wants to come back and play like mad to prove his worth. After his trade value escalates, expect the trade demands and stuff to be back again. However, if he plays well and the team starts winning, the rumors will most likely die down.
The thing is, with the guys Carter has around him, if he only played up to his potential the Raptors would be a pretty good team in the East. They play in probably the weakest division in the league, and if Carter has a good year they could definitely get a division title and the 3rd seed, which would put them ahead of Detroit or Indiana in the playoffs. Really, Carter should just make the best out of his situations and stop derailing the team's chemistry with these trade demands.
