<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Vince Carter didn't exactly shut anybody up yesterday, but his teammates took care of that for him.

The crowd at the Air Canada Centre was loud as always, but given that its team was in a double-digit hole much the game, it became more benign than dangerous. Not that Carter would admit to noticing any of that, of course.

"It was wonderful," Carter deadpanned when asked about the crowd reaction to him after the Nets' 96-91 victory. "I was ready to play. Playoffs, the atmosphere coming back here, it's always great. The welcome is always exciting. It's part of the sport. I just wanted to come out and play good basketball."

Carter's performance was not exactly memorable. Through the first 3 1/2 quarters he was shooting 4-for-18, but he made several game-breaking plays in the last three minutes, just after the Raptors had slashed a 15-point deficit to one. </div>
