So me and my friend have been arguing about this since the longest, but overall who could be the better player defensively and Offensively?
I can't speak for Loney, but when Kotch is healthy, he's an All-star caliber player. He's hitting the ball extremely well and is pretty good defensively. I know their is a lot of hype around Loney--can he hit for power? How is his defense? Being an Angel fan, I'm going to go for Kotchman. Can you explain Loney's game to me.
Actually Loney could also hit for power and plays great defense as well, he has the potential to be an all star caliber player as well. He could easily lead this team in HR's due to the fact that Jones is not producing and Kent is aging. Loney was off to a great start having a 15 game hitting streak. And he has had hes good defensive plays at 1B.

I suppose I would give Loney a slight power advantage and Kotchman a slight batting average edge. Loney seems to have fewer playing time questions. I was shocked to see Kotchman is already at six homers this year - I hadn't noticed. He's had six in a month once before (August of '05). Three of this month's HRs were termed "lucky" by Hit Tracker (meaning home runs that would not have cleared the fence if they had been struck on 70-degree, calm days).
