Timberwolves All-Star point guard Sam Cassell is looking for a multi-year contract extension, and he may not join the team until his demands are met, according to KFAN.com. Cassell did not fly into town for Monday's mandatory media-day session, and his agent, Dr. Charles Tucker, confirmed that the guard is prepared to hold out. Neither Tucker nor the Timberwolves could confirm if Cassell would let his holdout last into the regular season. Cassell is signed through the 2005-06 season and is scheduled to make $5.65 million this season. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=fanb...nball&type=lgns
Well, Sammy is overdue for a decent pay day from when he signed that contract extension with the Bucks in 2001 but he had got stuck with deal making 5-6 mill every year. While trash that isnt half as good is making as much or more. But anyway I dont think this is just a money thing Sam. I think this is just his way of expression his displeasure with the reports that upper ownership told Mchale to put Sammy on the trade block inorder to land kidd. Sammy has alot of pride & I know that had to be a huge blow especially after the year he gave Minny. Sammy hasnt taken it kindly in the past when he got shipped out of town for surposed point guard upgrades in PHX & New Jersey, so hear those reports probably offended him. They kind of offend me too. But hopefully Sammy & the Wolves can settle this before the pre-season starts & the can go about their jobs without any distractions.
