"King expects Cassel to be a free-agent and end up making $9 million a year with Minnesota, Detroit, San Francisco, St. Louis or whatever team offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels coaches in 2009, should he to get a head-coaching job." http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/9793/20081117/pats_unlikely_to_franchise_cassel/ http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/peter_king/11/16/week11/1.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ With that said, Anything would be an improvement over the cluster-crap we have lined-up behind the center right now. And with AD, Cassell would be a great addition...someone who can manage a drive and make minimal mistakes (this would also keep us from having to use our first round pick on a QB). And as for a possible stipulation of hiring McDaniels? After seeing Childress sitting AD on the bench for the last two "must score" drives with less than 3 minutes left in the game and then wasting our last timeout with only 14 seconds until the 2 minute warning...I'm open to a change there as well...
