The Minnesota Timberwolves are probably going to win their division for the first time. The guy who pulls it all together is a heavy favorite to win the league's MVP award for the first time.

That's three impressive firsts for Kevin Garnett's crew.

"People are talking about getting out of the first round," Cassell says with a sneer, sensing exactly where this going.

"But that's irrelevant. We're trying to go farther than that."

I have to agree with Sam I Am's tone. The Timberwolves' season is already a smashing success because of all of the firsts mentioned above, but his point is well-taken.</div>

I love his attitude, it is so positive, I think they will be in the Western Confrence finals if they dont have to play the lakers AT FULL STRENGTH

He has a great attitude. He can't settle for anything less than the best. They have a great chance of passing the 1st round and maybe going to the Finals.

He should fill that way. If you look at the top western conference teams, they are the best at combination of offense & Defense. And too top it off with Wally, Troy, Trent, Madsen, & EJ at full strenght they have one of the deepest benches in the league.

I think that if Kandiman comes around & starts making a major contribution in the post alongside KG, the Timberwolves can beat any team in basketball. The only thing I see that can keep them from a chip is they have no low post pressence other than KG. And if Kandiman doesnt come around then it will cost them in the playoffs against teams that have to good post options which all of the top 3 teams in the west(Sac,Spurs.LA) have.

I always thought Cassell was just a complainer with poor work ethic before he came here. But since he has, he has changed my feelings about him. He is still a complainer, but he has a great attitude and great work ethic. He never settles for anything less than the best. That's what I love about him.

To a certain extent, Sam's always had what might be described as a championship mentality but KG's had a huge influence on his work ethic, especially defensively.
