<u><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">Cavaliers need to make a deal?</span></u><u>Author Alias: Cavsrules</u>The Cavaliers are at 17-12 as of right now, with the Spurs coming to town tonight at the Q. Questions have been going around if the Cavaliers should make a move and try to upload and get a PG to help. Eric Snow has been shooting Terrible and just avg 4.2 points per game. His D has kept him in that starting PG role tho, but the question is. Do we need a scoring PG?Does Ferry need to make a move in order to get things going?Damon Jones would seem to answer that, but once again, like last season he is off. Jones had a great start to the season and had a great game vs. N.Y. But that is pretty much all we seen from Damon Jones. Larry Hughes has also been off but is slowing finding his way back to a normal Field Goal %. Hughes went cold before the Christmas holiday. Did Santa leave him a better shot? We found out as he did good vs. The Hawks and The Bucks might of woke him up. But then vs. the Bulls Hughes again fell in love with the Jumper and couldn't let it go, witch ended up to hurt the Cavaliers as they lost to the Bulls on LeBron James 22nd birthday. On the big men side of the game we got Drew Gooden who for sure needs to up grade on his D. He has been getting less time here and more time here. A person has to think, What are we using him for? Gooden is a scoring threat when he gets going, but that happens once ever 8 weeks.Zydrunas Ilgauskas is a great Center when he was a Lil bit younger. Today he is still trying to find out how to play the game the Cavaliers are playing. New found Offense has the Big man thinking 2 times before he makes a step in the paint. In order for this team to make it any where, James will need help from Ilgauskas and clearly ever one else. Now that leaves the question, do the Cavaliers need to trade, Sign, something in order to get a scoring PG? LeBron James can only do so much, Larry Hughes is not going to give u 25 a night, 20 when he is at a avg night shooting. Also comes to mind, is Mike Brown the right coach for the Cavaliers? People asked him some questions on his so called "Mike Brown Show". One of the questions that stood out was this, "Why don't the player drive instead of shooting?". Mike Brown Answer was clearly the dumbest think I ever heard. "I tell them to drive all the time, they just don't listen". I don't know what it is, but we pretty much need to find a way to make a move, get this coach out of town, Something in order to lit a fire and get back to the Cavaliers last season.Cavaliers are home tonight vs. the Spurs, then 2 road games vs. Boston and the Bucks and one more home game vs. The Nets before we hit our big road trip out west where the Cavaliers we most likely have a hard time unless we find a way to play good on the road.Eric Snow has been ugly when it comes to scoring, do the Cavaliers need a new PG?
No love for this?I know it's been up for only one day and all, but I wrote this myself. :dribble:And would love some feedback.

Phil loves tall point guards that have experience.</div>This is not to put Snow down or anything like that. I love what the guy does for the Team with his D. It REALLY helped us get the win vs. SA. Seems like the Cavaliers only show up to play good when we face good teams. Thats outstanding and all but we need to bring the goods ever night.Snow is a good PG. I like him and respect him. But the question is, do the Cavaliers need a Scoring PG? Because we all know Snow is just a ugly shooter.Snow in L.A? That would help them out big time, IMO. But who do u see sending to Cleveland?
Who would you want? You guys need a point guard...Smush Parker(former Cavalier) ? I don't know the salaries but obviously this would involve more people.

Maybe not, but it is something to think about it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DRob-50-Forever @ Jan 3 2007, 01:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>How about giving Daniel Gibson some more time?</div>Thats a VERY good idea.Put Mike Brown just has not been the same coach he was from last season. His comments I have heard, has gotten me ticked off on all levels. If I could, I would fire him myself! He needs to stop being a Mr.Nice Guy and start firing his guys up, yell at them. MAKE THEM LISTEN!!!Overall, I see Boobie(Dan Gibson) being the PG of time to come. He is a player I want to see out there with Bron and Hughes. But good old Mike Brown, doesn't feel the same I guess.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Something-To-Say @ Jan 3 2007, 01:35 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Cavs definitely need a diff. PG than Snow. He's old, overpaid, and worthless.</div>Well, 2 out of 3 aint so bad.Snow is not "Worthless", he is overpaid and is old. But he does a great job for the Cavaliers on the D side of the ball.Maybe some nights he is not doing a great job and that is a lot of the times the Cavaliers are losing ball games. The PG spot is always a spot where we need a play maker. A passer and for sure a scorer. Something Snow is not.

What cavs need is a distributer, not a scorer PG, they have James for scoring. I could see Cavaliers going to knicks for advice, I mean that team has ummm..let's just say too many guards. I guess cavs can try and acquire Nate Robinson, who is a great prospect when he gets floor time.
LeBron James can't do it all.Hughes is not a scoring threat, only when he drives but Mike Brown doesn't know the 1st thing about coaching. The Cavs need a PG that can get the job done when left wide open. Could u image the Cavaliers having a PG and a 3rd scoring on this ball club? I think it might be to hard to stop so we don't do it...haha
The cavs have so many forwards...we should trade some of them for a guard! Why not try and get cassell or somebody like andre miller again? Or how about make a deal for TJ Ford! I love that man!

He is a PG that can hit a open shot and dis out a lot of AST.
Cavs get:Andre MillerKyle Korver1st round pick(nuggets pick which is around 20)76ers getavsShannon BrownAV or Drew GoodenThe cavs get a good PG. I think Snow is good but he is not scoring at all and he costs us some points although he has great passing and great defense! Cavs get Kyle Korver for 3 point use becuase we need a good 3 point shooter who ca hit 3's on a daily basis and that 20th pick that the 76ers had is the perfect place to get Daequan Cook(OSU). I am pretty sure he is going to the draft after this year and a great pick up. He can't shoot 3's and drive. He is kinda like a Ray Allen. 76ers will get Pavs a good SG who just never gets his chance in cleveland with Larry, DJ, and Gibson getting the time at SG. Shannon is a good young player who can amount to stuff and AV or Drew would do good for the 76ers. Both are young and Webber is getting older and might retire soon and a perfect chance for them to do good. Thoughts?

But, I don't think that Cleveland would give up Gooden and his height for more guards.Pavs won't get good minutes though. He'd still play behind Andre Iguodala and Willie Green. And Shannon Brown, since he's in the deal.
There's a rumor today about Anthony Johnson to Cavaliers. Basically for the trade exception but I would like Shannon Brown added. He and Moe Ager have ties and I think Brown is a great young sg to bring in. Has the tools to fit the Mavericks.
