Cavaliers Pick Up Contract Option on Drew Gooden

    Gooden, the fourth overall pick by Memphis in the 2002 NBA Draft, averaged 11.6 points and 6.5 rebounds in 27.0 minutes for Orlando in 79 games last season. In his two-year career, the 6-10 forward, has averages of 12.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in 149 games. In six preseason games with the Cavaliers, Gooden is averaging 13.0 points and an NBA pre-season league-leading 11.2 rebounds.

    Gooden was acquired by the Cavaliers from Orlando on July 23, 2004 along with center Steven Hunter and the rights to forward Anderson Varejao in exchange for forward/center Tony Battie and two future second-round draft picks.</div>
