Cavs release J.R. Bremer Nailon look to pass the ball in his debut for the Cavs <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed forward Lee Nailon to a 10-day contract and released guard J.R. Bremer, Cavaliers President and General Manager of Basketball Operations Jim Paxson announced today. Nailon played in 35 games this season with Atlanta and Orlando and averaged 4.9 points and 2.2 rebounds. He has played in 194 career games with averages of 7.2 points and 2.7 rebounds. Nailon, 29, had his best season in 2001-02 when he averaged 10.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 79 games playing for the Charlotte Hornets under current Cavaliers Head Coach Paul Silas.</div> URL *Edited abit*
This guy had every chance in the world to be a player here, no one to blame but himself. Full Story is actually here. Signed Nailon, cut Bremer, and put Brown on the injured list.
I think Bremer should go to CBA to work with his game there, as Nailon did. Then let's see how he does.
Not sure if I'm wild about this signing. Nailon doesn't have a great reputation is known as kind of a selfish player just interested in getting his shots and scoring. I would have liked to have seen Brown get some minutes instead of being sent to the IL. If the Cavs were just interested in adding a potential scorer off the bench than Ron Mercer might have been a better addition. He is far more talented than Nailon and is a more versatile player and scorer. Neither has the great reputaion so that shouldn't be a factor. Bremer was a total bust here. If you look at his shooting %'s in Boston last year they really weren't that great either. He was worth a look but I think he would have been let go much earlier if he wasn't a Cleveland native.
what injury does Brown have know?? Bruised Thigh?? we need Jay Williams trainers for our players.. oh wait, it's Left Knee Tendinitis.. Doesn't one Cav player usually has Knee Tendintis once a year?? <font color="Red"> Please use the edit button - KJ</font>
There is a God. Bremer busted like no other "shooter" I've ever seen. He was given opportunities to succeed, but it was time for him to move on when it became a moral victory when his shot reached the rim. I doubt Kedrick is suffering from an injury. Cavs needed to open up a roster spot so somebody had to move to IR. Brown is renting the dog house out at this point, so it makes sense that he develops a mysterious injury.
Nailon can't play defense, but he can score although he can be a selfish player which is why he hasn't been able to keep a job.He had his best ever season under Paul Silas at the Hornets so maybe he will bring in some of that form to Cleveland. With Eric Williams struggling and Newbie not bringing much on the offensive end, that was the thought behind this signing I'm guessing.
I agree. It's good to see Paxson not settling for what he's got and trying to help Silas make a playoff push. It's about time we trimmed the fat off this squad and get someone in here that can do more than shoot, which was all that Bremer could do on his good night (one good night). I look at him as a Newble who can score. He can't hurt us.

Nailon can play some ball at the 4 behind Boozer! Giving us someone athletic against the players Boozer cant handle. At least its a different look. We were all complaining about lack of scoring from the bench. Well now we can start Williams and still have another punch with Wagner! Inexpensive experiment!
That Newble signing isn't looking too good right now. He's moved to the end of the bench now and he's still under contract for 4 more years. Please take him Charlotte Bobcats. I have to admit Nailon looked pretty good and did a solid job tonight. I hope he gives this type of effort every night because then he can be some help.

Nailon like the rest of the Cavs has plenty to prove. This is one night, and the next could be like the Bulls game. Hopefully Nailon can be that extra spark needed!
[/QUOTE]Nailon played for Silas in Charlotte and was cut by the Hornets one day after a heated verbal exchange with his coach. ``We never came to blows,'' Silas said with a laugh. So are things better? ``As long as he doesn't come at me like that,'' Silas said.

Dont think so! I think Nailon has had a reality check while being out of the NBA. He has to deal with things even if he doesn't agree. I'd like to think they will be ok, as Silas wouldn't of allowed this deal to go down!
