<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ESPN)</div><div class='quotemain'>They're still trying to upgrade the team. One league source told ESPN that they're making one last attempt to acquire Mike Miller and Kyle Lowry from the Grizzlies. They have little to offer, so to sweeten the pot they are willing to take Brian Cardinal as part of a deal. Memphis has been trying to get rid of him in a deal for a while, but haven't found any takers on the remaining $13 million left on his contract after this season. The deal, as a player agent described to me, would send Miller, Cardinal and Lowry to the Cavs for Ira Newble, Donyell Marshall, Shannon Brown, Cedric Simmons and Dwayne Jones along with cash and at least one first-round pick from Cleveland. If the Cavs can pull that off, it would be an immediate upgrade of their roster. But they face tough competition for the services of Miller and Lowry from many teams.</div> This is paraphrased since it is an Insider article and I don't have a link . If this truly is an option, the Cavs should pul the trigger. They would get a strong shooter, an upcoming PG and $5.75 million to come off the books in LeBron's Player Option offseason. They don't lose any key contributors, but it could leave them very vulnerable to injuries with a thinned out roster.
Mike Miller is just the type of player LeBron needs, personally I hope this happens. I'm a big LBJ fan and this keeps the Nets from trying to acquire Miller when they should be trying to clear cap.

They get about 5.25 million in expiring contracts up front, and then some more relief the season after that, but these guys are mostly scrubs. LA appears to have a better deal (I don't know if they want to accept Cardinal though), and the Nets have a little more to offer as well since they're stockpiling picks and such. Miller seems like a popular guy these days.
