Brown has played in 12 games (four starts) for the Cavaliers this season and has averaged 7.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 16.4 minutes per game. He played in one game last season with the D-League’s Albuquerque Thunderbirds and posted 14 points, four rebounds and six assists in 28 minutes. The Vipers are the D-League Affiliate for the Cavaliers, Houston Rockets and New Orleans Hornets.</div> http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/brown_assigned_080111.html At least now Brown will get some minutes playing basketball. This is probably a good move since Varejao's injury means that at best he will only be able to play reduced minutes. And in case the injury flares up again it is important to have extra frontcourt depth, especially with Marshall still out. A minor, but sensible, move.
