    The Cavaliers had a midnight deadline Sunday night to fire Mike Brown or pay him his full $4.5 million salary for next season.

    Brown leaves the team with the highest winning percentage in franchise history (.663).

    Cleveland has had the best record in the regular season in each of the last two seasons.

    The Cavaliers fired Brown on Sunday night and issued a press release on Monday morning announcing the decision.
