<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Plain Dealer)</div><div class='quotemain'>Talks were believed to be progressing between West and the Cavaliers, but the team is not expected to offer more than the five-year, $20.8 million deal shooting guard Daniel Gibson signed last week. Because West is a restricted free agent, the Cavaliers can match any offer he receives from another NBA team -- but Cleveland has no such edge with foreign teams.
John Bazemore/Associated PressJosh Childress chose a European address over the NBA when he rejected the Hawks for a three-year, $21 million deal with Olympiacos in Greece.
The left-handed West, who turns 25 today, could likely earn a more substantial deal from an international team that is not bound to NBA salary cap or luxury tax rules, and can also pay in the stronger Euro.</div>

I thought he would be offered more, but now it doesn't look as though that is the case. He is more valuable to the Cavs as a team, but Boobie is more valuable to the Cavs as a business due to marketing/LeBron James. I was thinking more along the lines of the MLE or something for West, but obviously not.

I find it absolutely hilarious that Boobie's sweetheart deal is going to kill their chances of resigning Deltone.

    Way to go Ferry
