BALTIMORE -- CC Sabathia earned yet another win while facing the Orioles and the Yankees took advantage of some sloppy defense to help post a 4-2 victory on Wednesday at Camden Yards.

Each of Sabathia's past four victories this year have come against the O's, and he has won his past seven starts against Baltimore -- though this one did not come as easily as some of the rest.

The left-hander was touched for two runs in the first three innings. Adam Jones walked, stole second, moved up on a wild pitch and scored on Garrett Atkins' single in the second inning, and Jones' RBI single in the third inning -- the third straight hit allowed by Sabathia -- scored Ty Wigginton with Baltimore's second run.

Sabathia settled down after a visit from acting pitching coach Mike Harkey and kept the Orioles off the scoreboard the rest of the way. In perhaps his biggest spot of the night, Sabathia struck out Luke Scott swinging to escape a bases-loaded jam to end the seventh.

The Yankees got to O's starter Chris Tillman for three runs and seven hits in six innings, though only Curtis Granderson's fourth-inning sacrifice fly was an earned run. Julio Lugo booted a Mark Teixeira grounder to open the sixth inning, and Alex Rodriguez and Robinson Cano followed with singles that tied the game at 2. Cano finished with three hits.

New York took the lead one batter later, when Jorge Posada hit a ground ball that went for a fielder's choice, as the Orioles recorded a forceout -- but Cesar Izturis threw the double-play relay past first base, allowing Rodriguez to score the Yankees' third run.

Brett Gardner, pinch-running for Posada in the eighth, stole second and scored on Francisco Cervelli's single to tack on insurance.

That was a tough game even though the Orioles aren't that good.
