Okay, so I washed my cell phone, rendering it pretty much useless. Luckily, The SIM card still works, so I'm planning on getting an unlocked cell phone off eBay or some other site. That means I can go with any brand I want since I don't have to specifically find a phone within my provider. With that said, do any of you guys have any ideas on what cell phone I should get? I'm looking more towards a bar phone with a camera, bigger sized screen (176 x 220 pixels would be nice), and of course text messaging capabilities. Personally I'm opposed to Razrs, so does anyone have any suggestions? Around the 150$ range btw.

I would also like to know if anyone has any Sony Ericssons out there (and feedback) or Siemens. Thanks guys.

I got the Samsung D807x for Christmas and it's awesome. Pretty big screen, 1.3 megapixel camera (i know its not that much), plays mp3's, can record, you can use songs from your computer as ringtones, and you can take basically anything from your computer and put it on the phone and vice versa.

EDIT: Just noticed you wanted a bar phone. The one I mentioned is a sliding one.
If you want a bar phone, I agree with MrJ on getting a SLVR. Heard alot of good things about it. However, my brother just got the W810i Ericsson. It has a 2.0 mega pixel camera on the back with flash and everything. Also serves as a walkman since its made by ericsson.

Yeah, I'm not opposed to a slide phone either. Its just that I really don't like flip phones too much (don't ask me why). The w810 is a bit out of my price range (I have to pay for this myself), but yeah its definitely a nice phone.

yea i love my sony ericsson phone.. i believe i have the s710a. Its cheap now that the w810 has been out and basically has all the same features except radio and it being a little bigger. It has external memory up to a 512 stick so u can put ur pics and/or music on there, bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera, and a nice clean screen and the battery power is actually not bad at least better than the razr i had before. The speakers are also a plus on the phone. I think u can get a brand new one maybe under 120 bucks on ebay which is pretty good for what options its offering.

Aren't you willing to pay up to 150$? Cause, my brother got for 100$ here, without a plan. But yeah, I'm not sure.

Anyways, I'm opposed to flip phones myself. I don't really have a real reason either. It's just bar phones and sliding ones, are more my type.

If your talking about the Ericsson, then I don't have that one, my brother does. But the Samsung (sliding one) is mine. My dad called up the HQ in Toronto, and he bargained for a while (that's just how filipino's are LOL), and he managed to get the guy to give it to me for 50$ Canadian. AND they paid for shipping and handling.

okay I"m not into gadgets, but if you ask me they're all the friggin same. Just get the cheapest phone that has all the features you want. If you only really want a camera on it, get the cheapest one with a camera. All those dumb commercials selling you this one or that one are really selling you the same crap in a slightly different package.

it's a phone, you dial a number and you talk to people. or if it has a camera you take a pic of you and your drunk buddies. that's it.

I'd got with the t509 as Umair suggests. It has the basic features like camera, txting, and the such and it's Bluetooth capable, which is very convinient. It's also a Samsung, and Samsung is a leader in cell phone technology, from their operating systems (which the iPhone, and the whole iPod line run among countless other cell phones and gadgets) to the easy to use features. It's an industry leader according to J.D. Power & Associates and I'd always recommend a Samsung phone to a customer. Too bad Sprint didn't pick up the above mentioned, because I'm in love with it.

Nothing REALLY special, but I've always likes slide phones. Pretty good camera, and it play mp3s. You can also use songs as ringtones without downloading them and paying off your phone. Only complaint I have is the battery life, other thaan that I'm satisfied with my phone.
