http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1374 <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Celtics are widely expected by many to trade down in the draft on Wednesday and attempt to pick up the player they want as well as another asset. Numerous trade rumors have them trading down to the 13-20 range in the draft, with Cedric Simmons and Rajon Rondo being two names they supposedly have their eye on.</div> Well Simmons and Rondo are working out today with us (with Foye/Williams/Redick). So if this is true, and Simmons is the ONLY big we have working out today, then this is probably true. Then, maybe Ainge is trying to see how Rondo compares with Foye/Williams? If he takes Redick I won't be very happy though. But if these reports are true, why not. If Ainge trusts Rondo I trust him too, plus I really love Cedric Simmons. But Ainge has a GREAT eye for talent and I trust any and every move he makes in the draft. My only question is: Who would we trade with and who would be that other asset. Crazy idea: If these Philly rumors are true, then maybe we swap picks with Philly in the deal as well and take Simmons. (Probably not, but hey it's something to think about). Another note: Danny Ainge said on WEEI yesterday that no trades will happen (not only with the Celtics, but likely the entire NBA) until draft day because everyone is still seeing what's out there.
If Aldridge falls than I think the Celts should defenitely take him. Other than that I wouldn't mind seeing them trade down and pick up a PG or C. They could probably still get Marcus Williams if they trade down to #13. Another rumor I heard was that the Celts would trade down to #16 and pick up Chris Duhon.

Where'd you hear that the Bulls killed it? There was a report today that said it was still a possibility. Could you link me?

The rumor, started by draftexpress.com, would have had to be agreed to in advance by Duhon since he signed an offer sheet with Toronto last summer. The source also said the Bulls have yet to decide what they will do with their picks, which include the No. 2 selection.</div>
That doesn't mean it's dead. It just means that Duhon has to agree for it to work. Becoming a starting PG next to one of the best players in the league isn't exactly a bad situation.
I really hope this happens. Duhon is the perfect player for the C's. He is a true point that would be a perfect backup and allow West to shift to the two at times. Running West and Duhon at the same time would be nice to see. They would most likely be able to still get their target player with the 16th pick, or else Ainge wouldn't do it. I heard he wants Brewer, not sure why, but a lot of mocks have him going to Chicago at 16th, even if Brewer is gone the quality of player is gonna be about the same.

But I'm with you, Duhon is perfect for us. My plan would have been do the trade (#7 for Duhon/#16) and then take Hilton Armstrong or Saer Sene at #16.
